Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 18th installment of the Pradhan Mantri-Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme in Washim, Maharashtra, on Saturday (October 5, 2024). Over 9.4 crore farmers across the country will receive an instalment of ₹2,000 in their accounts and the Centre will spend more than ₹20,000 crore for this.

The elections to Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assemblies are around the corner and a host of political leaders, including Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, Union Minister of Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Animal Husbandry Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis, will be present in the function. The Union Agriculture Ministry said around 2.5 crore farmers will join the event through webcast screenings at 732 Krishi Vigyan Kendras, over one lakh Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies and five lakh Common Service Centres nationwide. According to the Ministry, the day will also be celebrated as PM-KISAN Utsav Divas.

PM-Kisan Yojana 18th Installment: Key Points & Eligibility

• 18th Installment Release: The 18th installment of the PM-Kisan Yojana is set to be credited on October 5, 2024, directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers across India.

• Eligibility Criteria: To receive the installment, farmers must have completed the eKYC process and meet the eligibility criteria outlined by the scheme, ensuring they are small and marginal farmers with landholdings of up to 2 hectares.

• eKYC Process: Farmers need to complete their eKYC to continue receiving benefits under the scheme. This can be done via the PM-Kisan official website or by visiting the nearest CSC (Common Service Centre) .

• Check Account Balance: Farmers can check their payment status and balance through the PM-Kisan portal by entering their Aadhaar number, bank account, or mobile number.

• Rs 6,000 Yearly Benefit: Under the scheme, farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually, distributed in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each. This financial aid aims to support agricultural expenses and ease financial burden.

• Direct Bank Transfer: The PM-Kisan funds are directly transferred to the beneficiaries' bank accounts under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring transparency and reducing the chances of misallocation.

• Total Allocation: The scheme has now allocated over ₹3.45 lakh crore.

Enrollment/Eligibility  Status Of PM Modi Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

To determine if they meet the criteria and verify enrollment in the scheme, farmers can follow these steps:

> Visit the official PM-KISAN website.
> Access the beneficiary list page.
> Input information for state, district, sub-district, block, and village.
> Select 'Get Report' to review the beneficiary list and confirm the inclusion of their name.

PM-Kisan Yojana 18th Installment

To determine their beneficiary status under the PM-Kisan scheme, farmers can conveniently check online by following these steps:

Visit the official PM-Kisan website and go to the "Beneficiary Status" section.

Provide either your Aadhar number or account number.

Click the "Get Data" button to access your beneficiary status and review the payment details.

After submitting the information, the system will process the request and show the farmer's beneficiary status, along with the payment status under the scheme. This simple process enables farmers to monitor the crediting of instalments to their accounts.

How to complete your eKYC to continue receiving payments from the PM-KISAN scheme?

There are a total of three ways to complete the eKYC, listed as follows:

Face authentication for e-KYC

Farmers can perform e-KYC using their mobile phones by following these steps:

• Download the PM-KISAN mobile app and Aadhaar Face RD app from the Google Play Store.
• Open the app and log in using the PM-KISAN registered mobile number.
• Navigate to the beneficiary status page.
• If the e-KYC status is displayed as “No”, select e-KYC, enter your Aadhaar number, and provide consent to scan your face.

OTP-based eKYC

Farmers are required to have an active Aadhaar-linked mobile number to execute an OTP-based eKYC.

The steps to activate it this way are as follows:

• Go to the PM-KISAN portal.
• Click on "e-KYC" on the top right corner of the website
• Enter your Aadhaar number and complete your eKYC after submitting your OTP

Biometric-based eKYC

Biometric eKYC is available across more than four lakh Common Service Centres (CSC), and various State Seva Kendras (SSK) across the country to provide the services at the doorsteps/neighborhoods of farmers.

The steps to complete your KYC this way are as follows:

• Visit your nearest CSC/SSK with your Aadhaar Card and Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
• You can find the nearest CSC from https://locator.csccloud.in/
• The CSC/SSK operator will assist in performing biometric authentication using Aadhaar-based verification.
• The convenience fee to be paid is Rs. 15 for eKYC.
